Sofia Central Market Halls are the oldest indoor market in Sofia, which is being built together with Central Station, Central Bath, and others. Their construction began in 1909 according to a project by the architect Naum Torbov. In 1911 the Halls opened their doors and became an important commercial site in the center of Sofia. In 1988 they closed for reconstruction and renovation, reopened in 2000.
